How do I create an account?
Open the app and tap Sign Up. You can browse listings and post your own once you're signed in.
How do I post something to trade?
Tap the “+” / Post button, describe the skill or service you're offering (or looking for), and publish it so others can find it.
How do trades work?
Message the other member, agree on what each side will do, and confirm the swap. BarterThat helps you find and coordinate — the trade itself is between you and the other member.
Is BarterThat free?
Yes — BarterThat is free to use.
How do I report a problem or another user?
Email support@barterthat.app with details and we'll review it promptly.
How do I delete my account or data?
Email us at support@barterthat.app from your account email and we'll remove your account and associated data.
BarterThat is for lawful trades only. You may not list or trade illegal, stolen, recalled, counterfeit, or age-restricted items — including weapons, drugs or drug paraphernalia, alcohol, tobacco/vape, prescription or medical devices, live animals where restricted, hazardous materials, or adult/sexual services. "Companionship," escort, or plus-one listings must be strictly platonic and lawful; any sexual or solicitation content is banned and reported.
Regulated & licensed services. Trades involving legal, medical, mental-health, financial, or building/trade work may require a professional license in your area. BarterThat does not verify licenses or run background checks; badges reflect only information members provide. You are responsible for holding any license the law requires and for the safety and legality of your own trades. Meet in public, keep chat on BarterThat, and use Report/Block if something is wrong.
Bartering is not tax-free. The IRS and many tax authorities treat the fair-market value of goods and services you receive in a trade as taxable income.
